
INTRODUCTION
The Management Advisory Committee (MAC) provides State and Federal Agency involvement, participation, and support to the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program on measures to restore and protect the natural resources of the Albemarle-Pamlico region. As an advisory committee, two representatives from the MAC serve on the Policy Board, and MAC representatives consult with members of the Science & Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) and Citizens Advisory Committee (MAC).
ABOUT MAC
Objective: A Committee of Management Agency Representatives ("Management Advisory Committee") for the Albemarle-Pamlico watershed was established to facilitate and support the implementation and advancement of the CCMP management actions, and the APNEP mission.
Background: The MAC, along with the Scientific & Technical Advisory Committee and Citizen Advisory Committee, are the three advisory bodies sanctioned in North Carolina Governor's Executive Order #74 in May 2005 to support the APNEP Policy Board. Since its establishment in January 2006, MAC works APNEP partners to implement CCMP and acts as a forum for the exchange of information on issues relevant to the APNEP watershed.
Membership:
The Management Advisory Committee (MAC) is broad-based and includes representation from federal, state and local agencies with environmental and natural resource management responsibilities within the Albemarle-Pamlico watershed.

Duties: The MAC is responsible for coordinating, supporting and advocating CCMP implementation strategies at a state and federal agency level. It advises and consults with the Policy Board, CAC and STAC on the implementation of CCMP management actions and advancement of the CCMP at the federal, state and local agency level.
